New design ideas for Summer 2012

Hey Hey!So i have all these ideas running through my crowded head and thought it would be best to get them out! Summer is just around the corner and the fashion trends seem to be block /bold brights or pretty feminine pastels. Pastels are one of my favourite colour palettes to work with so you will definately be seeing some of these in my new range.Think-peach, lilac, lemon, baby blue, coral and baby pink in soft materials like tulle, chiffon, lace and of course, pearls!Oh soooo pretty! I can't wait to get started! I have also come to the realisation that although black is what most would consider a "basic" or staple in any women's wardrobe, yet I don't offer much that will match. So, black will also be appearing in the new range however these will be more marketed towards teens-adults. My ideas for these items is black lace, faux leather, studs, black pearl trail, satin, organza and ruffles with accents of silver or gold. I have had quite a few inquiries into adult couture pieces, especially for race days, formals and special occasions and I will be taking that into consideration when making new stock. I also am totally in love with statement pieces at the moment so I have decided to offer a few couture sash belts suitable for all ages that will be heavily embellished with hand sewn beads, appliques, sequins and sparkles! I also have some tutu's leotards and dresses in the pipleline which I will be giving you a sneak peek of shortly.Peace out :) xo Melanie

Today I am busy working on submissions for Razzleberry Kids Market Night http://www.facebook.com/pages/Razzleberry-Kids/197288313623791?ref=ts
The theme is "Candy Shop" and I must admit I am having a lot of fun with these designs. Think fairy floss colours of soft pinks and lilacs......I will also be submitting one of the most challenging and time consuming pieces I have done to date. It is a cluster necklace with tiny ribbon flowers and i can assure you it is beautiful!
I have had a few requests for bulk packs for birthday gifts and party packs. So I have been busily plodding away at these too. I am about to upload some photos onto my facebook page for you all to have a sticky beak at :)
So amongst all of this I have also been trying to prepare for Blue Raven Designs first ever market night. I am hoping that you all visit on the night and join in on the fun. There's plenty of $1 prizes to be won. There are over 100 items up for grabs via the ballot process and you are welcome to comment early so you don't forget!Be sure to head to ALL vendors pages and comment on their wall "Spreading The Love with Blue Raven Designs!" to ensure your comments are included in the draws.
And now on to a totally different topic...Its my baby girls 1st birthday in 4 weeks. Wow time flies! And currently being a single income house hold I have made most of her gifts. I am lucky that I am crafty or she wouldn't be getting anything! Her room is owl themed so most of her presents revolve around owls (even though she doesn't know what they are!" I have welcomed all page owners or crafty people to conatct me if they would be interested in swapping product. My product for theirs to the same value. I am still looking for more. I thought this was a great idea since some of us admire but don't have the money to buy. So if you are interested in this, email me or get in touch via my page www.facebook.com/blueravendesigns. Now I'm off to make another coffee and try to get inspired! x Melanie
